New Mills Town Council logo

CLIENT: New Mills Town Council
BRIEF: To update the old hand-drawn crest:

to be more modern and professional in appearance. The main aspects of the crest had to be retained, namely the deer and the fence-like structure behind, signifying the historical use of the area as a royal hunting enclosure.

< NEWER PROJECT ::: EARLIER PROJECT >

As well as polishing the old design, I wanted to add some aspects of New Mills that are visible today, while adding a feel of solidity and strength to the design. So I incorporated the chimneys on either side, and also the arched decoration at the top represents the viaducts of New Mills. Also, the fencing was rethought slightly to echo the Millennium Walkway, another town landmark. Both colour and mono versions were created. The crest as it is shown below is in use now.
